Moore was on his way home to Moultrie, Georgia after a long haul when he saw the accident happen, and quickly pulled his big rig over to the side of the road to help.

“I watched her crash, and I didn’t think twice, I parked my truck and got to her as fast as I could. It was just in time,” said Moore.

Moore got the 74-year-old woman out of her truck just before the truck burst into flames. Witnesses who saw the accident happen said Moore didn’t leave the woman’s side, staying with her until an ambulance arrived at the scene.

“I am just thankful that Jesus put me where I needed to be to help that woman. All I was thinking about was saving her life. Her life was more important than anything at the time,” said Moore.

Moore explained he did what he thinks anyone would do, help save a life.

“I knew there was a life in there, nothing else mattered, but saving her life,” he said.

Moore says the woman he saved, Annie Lee Smith, was hospitalized after the crash with injuries to her arm and ribs. He is in touch with Smith’s family and hopes to visit her as soon as she feels up to it.

The BCO, who leased on to Landstar in 2013, has been in the transportation industry for the last 16 years. Landstar is presenting Moore with a Platinum Star of Quality for his heroic efforts.
